Switching to Highland Electricity Made Easy

Getting Started

Give us a call on 0800 224 224 to sign up and find out how much you could save by switching to Highland Electricity. Our friendly team is ready to help and answer any questions you might have. 

What Happens Next

After signing up, you’ll receive a welcome email confirming your switch and chosen tariff. From this point, you have a 14-day cooling-off period. If you change your mind during this time, just let us know, and we’ll cancel the switch without any hassle.

We’ll manage the switch for you by notifying your current supplier and arranging a date to transfer your energy supply. You can choose when you would like the switch to take place, either as soon as possible (up to 5 working days) or 5 working days after the 14-day cooling-off period has ended.

Sharing Your Meter Reading

We’ll email you a few days before your switch date to request a meter reading. This helps finalise where your old supplier stops billing, and Highland Electricity begins.

You’ll have up to 5 days after your switch date to send us the reading. If it’s not submitted within this timeframe, we’ll work with your old supplier to estimate a meter reading instead.

Your First Payment

Your first Direct Debit will be processed on the day of your switch, putting your account in credit. After that, payments will be taken monthly on your chosen date.

We start with an estimated payment based on your expected energy usage. As we monitor your actual consumption, we’ll review your payments regularly to ensure they align with your usage.
